Georganna Lenssen's portraits explore the paradox of the human face, which can at once be revealing and obscure. Following a precise rendering of the subject, she progressively deconstructs and reconstructs the image in an exploration of a hidden, sometimes contradictory quality or expression of character. The artist has won the Roy Lance Lauffer Memorial Prize and the Elizabeth Arrasmith Scholarship for her work.
